BLUE RIBBON SUSHI IZAKAYA

Ensconced on the second floor of the Thompson LES hotel, Blue Ribbon Sushi Izakaya draws its inspiration from the traditional Japanese sake gastro-tavern. With seating at the sushi bar, drink bar, booths, communal tables, and a private dining alcove, the 150-seat izakaya offers a mix of dining experiences. The interiors are rendered in Spanish cedar, douglas fir, reclaimed barn siding and variegated, unglazed Japanese terracotta tiles, and draw direct inspiration from the ubiquitous, dark atmospheric Japanese izakayas. The adjacent terrace extends the experience to an outdoor beer garden featuring Japanese bar food, overlooking the bustle of Allen Street in the center of the vibrant Lower East Side.
