Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar, in downtown Manhattan, combines a take-away sushi restaurant with a 16-seat omakase sushi bar. Located centrally within the bright and bustling Hudson Eats Food Hall and dining terrace overlooking the Hudson River at Brookfield Place in Battery Park City, the design utilizes natural materials and clean architectural lines to punctuate the energy of its setting with a quiet and refined backdrop. Selected materials include dark stained white oak paneling facing a honed Carrara marble bar counter, antique vertical grain pine counters, a wrap-around stainless steel canopy, with integrated light fixtures, and hand-finished white oak wall panels stained in variegated grays with a hand-painted mural. Blue Ribbon succeeds in creating a distinctive sense of place and identity within the challenging space of a large food hall.
